Biography

Adam Sharpe is a futurist, youth engagement specialist, and foresight practitioner whose work focuses on how young people engage with long-term change and imagine alternative futures. Based in Bangkok, Thailand, he works at the intersection of futures studies, education, and participatory practice, with a strong emphasis on inclusion and intergenerational perspectives.

With more than a decade of experience in the international development sector, Sharpe has designed and delivered educational programs across Asia and Europe, reaching large and diverse audiences. His work addresses themes such as sustainability, social justice, and systems change, and is grounded in the belief that futures thinking becomes more effective when those most affected by future decisions are actively involved in shaping them.

Sharpe has collaborated with a range of international organizations, including the United Nations, the Asian Development Bank, the British Council, MTV EXIT, and the Thailand Institute of Justice. Through this work, he has contributed to initiatives related to the Sustainable Development Goals, green infrastructure, human trafficking prevention, and campus sexual violence, gradually integrating foresight methods into these contexts to support longer-term, systemic approaches.

As the Founder and CEO of Futurely, a youth futures think tank, Sharpe leads participatory foresight research and workshops that empower young leaders to explore and create alternative futures. He also serves as Director of Learning at Metafuture School, where he designs futures literacy programs, facilitates foresight methods, and supports international learning partnerships. Alongside his applied work, he contributes to academic and practitioner publications and has received international recognition for his work on intergenerational fairness and youth participation in futures practice.
